Holiday Open House at Caitlin’s Smiles

You are invited to celebrate the holidays at Caitlin’s Smiles’ annual Holiday Open House on Thursday, December 5, from 5 pm to 8 pm. The Holiday Open House will be held at the Caitlin’s Smiles office at 3303 N. 6th Street in Harrisburg.

Founder and Director Cheryl Hornung states, “We wish to thank our volunteers, sponsors, and donors for a year of generous giving. Our office will be filled with holiday cheer, complete with refreshments, music, silent auctions, and volunteering.” A Holiday Silent Auction will run during the evening. All community members are welcome to attend the event.

Our warehouse will be transformed into a volunteering space to create greeting cards, decorate gift bags, and make craft kits for hospitalized children. We will have 3 one-hour volunteer sessions that evening — pre-registration for volunteering is required. To register, go to the Caitlin’s Smiles Monthly Craft Night page.

Donations of craft supplies are gratefully accepted: coloring or puzzle books, adult coloring books, sketch pads for teens, macramé hemp, plastic lacing/gimp, pencils, ink pens, pony beads, Play-Doh®, Ziploc® baggies in snack and sandwich sizes, and gift cards from area craft and office supply stores. Our Wish List is available here.

Caitlin’s Smiles delivers arts and crafts kits to children facing chronic or life-threatening illnesses, and donations will be used to fill “Bags of Smiles” craft packages. Since 2004, Caitlin’s Smiles has spread smiles to the faces of more than 1.9 million children.
