Caitlin's Smiles - Giving sick children laughs, hopes and smiles.

Each Saturday in October, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Caitlin’s Smiles will be holding a fundraising event at the Harrisburg Mall. Children will have the opportunity at arts and crafts stations to make craft bags to give to similar-age children in the hosp

ital. They’ll also have the chance to create some art for themselves.

Throughout the month we'll have cookie decorating, bag decorating, making cards, assembling craft kits, pumpkin coloring contests, scavenger hunts and Play-Doh collections. Our goal is to reach $12,000 through Play-Doh and monetary donations.

The event will culminate on the final Saturday, October 30, with trick-or-treating throughout the mall.

Stations will be staffed by our volunteers, community groups, Girl Scouts, Key Clubs, Circle K Clubs, Kiwanis and other organizations and individuals who serve as Caitlin’s Smiles volunteers. If you and/or your group can volunteer to help or do a Play-Doh drive, please e-mail us.

Thank you for the activity bags that you donate to local hospitals. My 10-year old daughter had her second open-heart surgery at University of Maryland Hospital last week and she received one of your bags full of activities. As a parent, I appreciate the efforts you put into making my child's stay in the hospital a little more exciting. God bless you for all that you do!
