Caitlin’s Smiles expresses its appreciation to The John Sempeles Foundation for its generous donations for our kids.
John Sempeles, who was born and raised in Harrisburg, was a musician, a teacher and most of all a friend who always helped others. In his memory, his wife, Sue, and daughter, Ellie, established the foundation with the mission of helping others who are doing good things for people in need.
Ellie and Sue led a monthlong drive for donations for Caitlin’s Smiles, and as Sue put it, “People have been very generous.” They were so generous that mother and daughter made two deliveries of supplies a couple of weeks apart.They first brought boxes of kids’ jigsaw puzzles, foam doorhangers, colored pencils, drawing pads, notebooks, foam stickers, crayons and toys. They came back again with more puzzles and notebooks.
