The youth group from Central Presbyterian Church in Des Moines came 1,000 miles to be part of the 16:14 Mission at Camp Hebron near Harrisburg.
“Why 16:14?” asked Kat, volunteer ministry coordinator at the camp. “It means, ‘Whatever you do, do it with love.’ “
As part of their mission, seven middle schoolers, two pastors, and their youth leader all the way from Iowa accompanied Kat to Caitlin’s Smiles on a recent July morning. They packed a lot of love into their two hours at Smiles Central. They filled more than 250 Coping Kits and hundreds of Camp-In-A-Bag kits and boxed hundreds of craft kits for our kids.
To Medea, Mackenzie, Noah, Shepard, Sam, Lily, Sofia, Wallace, Gabriele, Sophie, and Kat: Thank you so much for bringing your love and kindness from so far away. Thank you for sharing the love with our kids.
